Profile

Hello.

I am a teacher/guitarist/composer/songwriter that loves music.

My first degree was in Biology from West Virginia University.

It was a great school, but I ended up in a field that was not for me.

I wanted to play the guitar!

I went back to school and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Music Production & Engineering degree.

After teaching in New York City for almost three years, I realized I really liked what I was doing.

Along the way, I earned a Master’s and a Doctorate in Music Education from Boston University.

I have been playing for over 30 years and teaching private lessons for almost 20.

This website is a way to introduce myself and be a supplement for students.

I teach and play many instruments, including, but not limited to:

Guitar, Woodwinds, Piano,

Banjo, Ukulele, Mandolin,

Theory, Songwriting, and Composition

My wife, Alexis, teaches violin students.

I am a professional instructor with the ability and resources to help you with several styles ranging from Rock to Classical to Jazz to Country to Metal. In other words, anything you want to learn, I can teach by using the songs and exercises necessary to help you become a musician.

I explore as many circumstances as possible to make music enjoyable for my students.

Learning to play any style of music is a challenge, but with help from an experienced teacher, your instrument becomes a rewarding lifelong enjoyment.

Here you will find various handouts and reference materials that I hope will start you on your musical journey and inspire you to sign up for lessons so I can help you understand the rest.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for new lesson ideas.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you and enjoy!
